This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install and use the Xray Product Image Optimizer WordPress plugin (the “Plugin”), developed by Michele Vacca / Xray Web Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By installing and using the Plugin, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Local Processing: The core functionality of Xray Product Image Optimizer—including cropping, WebP/AVIF generation, and SEO metadata management—is performed locally on your WordPress server.
We do not upload, transfer, or store your images, product data, or media library contents on our own servers or any third-party external processing APIs. All media optimization happens entirely within your hosting environment.
No Visitor Tracking: The Plugin is designed strictly for backend management and does not track your website’s frontend visitors or inject any tracking cookies into your public-facing site.
We use Freemius (“Freemius, Inc.”) as our secure Merchant of Record, licensing manager, and analytics provider.
When you purchase a premium license, Freemius collects personal data necessary to process the transaction, manage your subscription, and prevent fraud. This information is collected directly by Freemius and includes:
Name and Email Address.
Billing address.
Payment details (processed securely by their payment gateways; we never see or store your full credit card details).
When you install the Plugin, Freemius may ask for your permission to opt-in to usage tracking. If you explicitly consent, Freemius collects non-sensitive diagnostic data to help us improve the Plugin. This may include:
Your site URL and WordPress version.
PHP version and server environment details.
The version of the Plugin installed.
Your admin email address (for critical security updates and support).
💡 Flexibility: You can opt-out of this usage tracking at any time via the Account or Opt-Out section in the Plugin’s dashboard inside your WordPress admin.
For more details on how Freemius handles your data, please review the Freemius Privacy Policy.
The information collected (primarily through Freemius) is used solely to:
Validate your license key and provide premium features.
Deliver automatic updates and security patches.
Provide technical support and respond to your inquiries.
Understand how the Plugin is used across different environments to fix bugs and improve overall performance.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We share data only with:
Freemius: As described above, for the essential operation of licensing, payments, and (if opted-in) analytics.
Legal Compliance: If required by law, we may disclose information to comply with legal obligations or valid governmental requests.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights regarding the data we (or our partners like Freemius) hold about you:
The right to access, update, or delete your information.
The right of rectification (to correct inaccurate data).
The right to object to our processing of your data.
The right to data portability.
To exercise these rights, particularly concerning data held by Freemius for your license or opt-in tracking, you can manage your preferences directly from your WordPress dashboard or contact Freemius support. You can also contact us for assistance.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, via an admin notice in your WordPress dashboard.
